Iran launched a series of missile strikes against Israeli targets on Tuesday, targeting predetermined military and infrastructure sites in response to the Israeli aggression.

According to Al Jazeera, the missiles reportedly bypassed the regime's air defense systems and successfully struck targets across various regions. Explosions were heard in Tel Aviv and central Israel, prompting authorities to close the airspace over the occupied territories until further notice.

Israeli media outlets reported significant damage in the southern city of Beersheba, where dozens of buildings sustained destruction within a several-hundred-meter radius of one blast site. 

Haifa and the Ramat David Airbase were also among the early targets struck in the morning.

The attacks came in six successive waves throughout the morning of June 24.

Footage released by Iranian media showed missiles illuminating the sky as they launched from Iranian territory. Al-Masirah network reported thick black smoke rising near the Ashdod power station following a direct missile hit.

The barrage concluded shortly before a reported ceasefire came into effect at 7:30 a.m. Tehran time.

Iranian authorities have not officially confirmed the ceasefire which was announced by US President Donald Trump early on Tuesday.

The Iranian attack came as Israeli forces bombed civilian areas in Tehran and Gilan provinces early on Tuesday. In Gilan alone, nine civilians were killed in an Israeli strike on a residential building.
